{"id":5421,"date":"2024-11-22T10:30:06","date_gmt":"2024-11-22T10:30:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.besarpp.be\/?page_id=5421"},"modified":"2025-01-16T16:07:46","modified_gmt":"2025-01-16T16:07:46","slug":"patient-case-competition-2025","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.besarpp.be\/en\/patient-case-competition-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Patient case competition 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size\"><strong>Patient case competition<\/strong> <strong>2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading c-blue \">Concept of the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submission period: 01 January 2025 \u2013 31 March 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c-red \"><strong>Patient case competition:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"list \">\n<li>Physicians can submit patient cases over a 3-month period.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Patient cases that demonstrate the importance of goal-directed therapies in patient blood management (with a focus on the use of fibrinogen).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c-red \"><strong>BeSARPP will organize the project:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Belgian Society of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation, Perioperative medicine and Pain management)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"list \">\n<li>Cases will be sent directly to BeSARPP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cases may not contain brand names.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An independent steering committee will select 2 winners.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each winner will receive a grant of \u20ac 5 000,00.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The best case will be presented on the BeSARPP Annual Meeting on 20-21 June.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c-red \"><strong>Objective of the project:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"list \">\n<li>Increase awareness of the important role of fibrinogen and targeted therapies in patient blood management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exercise for HCPs in reporting and describing a case.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Content of the patient cases may be used and distributed by CSL Behring through the Bleed Academy website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c-red \"><strong>Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"list \">\n<li>The grant can only be used for (pre-)clinical research or educational training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CSL Behring must give approval on the (pre-)clinical research\/educational training, chosen by the winner, before the grant can be awarded. This approval is required to ensure that the money goes to an educational purpose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The grant cannot be disbursed directly to an HCP, but will be disbursed to an HCO.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CSL Behring provides a sponsorship of \u20ac 10 000,00 to BeSARPP to cover the winners&#8217; grant. The decision of winner and payment of the grant to the HCO lies entirely with the BeSARPP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c-red \"><strong>Important dates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"list \">\n<li>Patient case submissions: <strong>1 january 2025 \u2013 31 March 2025<\/strong>. The application consists of the patient case + short CV HCP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Period of review by steering committee: <strong>5 April 2025 &#8211; 5 May 2025<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"c-red \"><strong>Guidelines:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"list \">\n<li>the submitted patient cases must discuss the treatment of massive bleeding, and demonstrate the importance of goal-directed therapies and protocols in patient blood management (with a focus on the use of fibrinogen).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the disease area can be multiple (for example but not limited to: PPH, trauma, ICU, surgery, transplant)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>no brand names can be mentioned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"list \">\n<li>You may use the ACTA guidelines.
