1st international conference of The Association of Anaesthesiologists of Malta: Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Perspectives
The Association of Anaesthesiologists of Malta (AAM) is pleased to invite you to its first international conference, “The High-Risk Patient: Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Perspectives,” to be held from February 21-22, 2025, at the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa, St. Julian’s, Malta. This event is designed for both local and international anaesthesiologists, trainees, and anaesthetic and intensive care nurses.
We are honoured to welcome several distinguished local and international experts, including Prof. Idit Matot, President-Elect of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC); Prof. Federico Bilotta, Chair of the National Anaesthesia Societies Committee (NASC) and Chair of the European Subcommittee of Neuroanaesthesia; Prof. Steffen Rex, Prof. Andy Lockey, and Dr. Nuala Lucas, among others.

The programme will feature:
- A variety of sessions focused on high-risk patient populations, including plenary sessions, and multiple parallel sessions.
- Pre-conference workshops on Friday, 21st February, covering topics such as simulation, Resuscitation in collaboration with the MRC, echocardiography, ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia, patient safety and non-technical skills and difficult airway management, among others. Places are limited, so please apply early.
- The event will also showcase oral and poster presentations highlighting research in these areas. Abstract submissions are open until Monday 2nd December 2024, noon Malta time.
