The Organizing Committee and the Scientific Board are mobilized for the 11th International Symposium on the History of Anaesthesia (ISHA) to be held on the 16, 17 and 18 September 2025 in Paris.

The University Paris Cité will host the Symposium on the first two days in its historic premises rue de l’Ecole de Médecine. We shall have the opportunity to discuss and exchange during conferences and communications sessions.

The French Society of Anaesthesia and Resuscitation (SFAR) welcomes us on the third day during the annual congress at the Palais des Congrès at Porte Maillot, Paris. This is an important moment as we are hosting the World Congress of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (WCVAA) conferences at the same time.

The Scientific Committee organizes conferences on a wide range of topics, some of them unique. Already 18 conferences are scheduled. Call for papers is now open and we invite you to submit your abstracts. The dead line is set for March 31st.
An exhibition of materials and books on anaesthesia is also scheduled from July to October at the Museum of the History of Medicine with a guided tour during the congress period.

In addition we shall propose a visit to the Collège de France, historic place where Claude Bernard had his laboratory and also a visit to the Institut de France hosting the French Academy of Sciences where took place the deliberations related to the discovery of anaesthesia.
Finally Paris doesn’t exist without the Seine River. A gala diner will take place on a boat on Wednesday evening.
