AAA Symposium 2023
Welcome to our biannual AAA Symposium, which will take place on the 27-29 April 2023 in Zurich, Switzerland.
Day tickets are available!
OUR VISION
Our main focus of discussion in 2023 aims to further strengthen the quality of treatment in the ambulatory setting of anesthesia, surgery and pain therapies. Outpatient treatment is gaining more importance because of its low impact on the patient, and relative cost efficiency. Thanks to medical & technical developments this shift is more and more possible.
We are looking for organizations, societies and institutions that would be willing to expand their network, acquire new members and contribute to the development of technologies and techniques for ambulatory surgery, anesthesia and pain therapies.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Topics of AAA2023:
Top-class and prominent speakers from Europe and overseas
- Large panel on new & interactive pain therapies in the outpatient setting: dialogues and decisions Complementary therapy or alternative to surgery? (i.e.hyperbaric therapy, cannabis, mobile devices)
- Constructive discussion between surgeons and anesthesiologists for better treatment of patients
- What we can learn from the COVID-19 pandemic: new therapeutic approaches, socio-political aspects
Satellite symposium of ESCTAIC (28th annual meeting of the European Society for Computing and Technology in Anesthesia & Intensive Care): Technological progress and consequences of the pandemic for the process of preoperative assessment

Opportunities for your society:
This event will take place at the Hotel Renaissance in Zurich, a beautiful, safe and clean city, where many innovative methods for medical areas are developed every year. We have prepared a full schedule of lectures and workshops which will lead to different take-aways. These learnings will impact surgeons, doctors, and other healthcare workers in their daily work. Participants will also receive a certificate of attendance and 24 points from the Swiss Society of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. We look forward to broaden new points of view and to simplify work practices by guaranteeing financial, resource and time optimizations for doctors and surgeons who adhere to new methods.
In order to keep participants even more inspired, we have prepared a gala dinner and a small day trip to the Swiss Alps, where joiners will encounter breathtaking views and enjoy an exquisite lunch. An art exhibition by Dr. Alina Predescu-Melzer will take place during the symposium as well.
