What is the SFAR?
SFAR, French Society of Anesthesia and Resuscitation , is an association according to the 1901 law, recognized as being of public utility . Its aim is the study, advancement and teaching of anesthesia, resuscitation and perioperative medicine.
To its initial objectives, it added innovative objectives:
- the safety of all actions carried out by anesthetists-resuscitators
- support for research in anesthesia and intensive care
- parity in the organization
- a sustainable development committee to respond to ecological challenges
- a digital group to respond to digital challenges
The Company’s means of action include:
– the organization of scientific meetings: Annual National Congress, Virtual Congress, Training days, Simulation workshops, Expert meetings, etc.
– the publication of two scientific journals, Anesthesia & Réanimation (ANREA) and Anaesthesia Critical Care & Pain Medicine (ACCPM)
– the development and publication of SFAR Recommendations,
– the granting of scholarships and prizes: Study and Research Grants, Research Contracts, etc.
– the creation of Committees and Working Groups.
– conducting investigations in the field of anesthesia, resuscitation, perioperative medicine
